Prof. (Dr.) Debal Chandra Kar is serving as a University Librarian at Galgotias University and also acts as Dean. Previously he worked at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi (2011-2021) as a University Librarian, at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi (formerly known as Tata Energy Research Institute) as a Fellow, and in other positions (1986-2011) including TERI University as University Librarian (2001-2005).Dr. Kar has obtained a “Management of Information in Science and Technology” (MIST) Certificate course from Vrije University Brussels, Brussels, Belgium through a scholarship from the Belgium Government. Dr. Kar received the Endeavour Executive Fellowship 2014 from the Government of Australia and worked as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, 2014.He has published widely. He has been privileged to receive several prestigious awards recognizing his achievements. He was Vice-Chair of the IFLA Regional Division Committee – Asia and Oceania 2021-2023 and IFLA Social Science Libraries Section Standing Committee 2021-2025 member.
